Lothar Hempel, Mäusebunker (Mice Bunker) at The Kitchen. September 5–6, 8pm
Named after one of Germany’s most notorious structures, the Institute of Experimental Medicine, the film Mäusebunker (Mice Bunker) by Lothar Hempel employs figures from the Berlin art scene to portray a parallel universe where, after a laboratory accident and epidemic, only women exist. The piece also features a live dance performance and will be continually updated by the artist. It is a film without final shape.
