Yuli Yamagata: Sweet Dreams Nosferatu: Art Basel Parcours 2021

Anton Kern Gallery, in collaboration with Madragoa and Fortes D'Aloia & Gabriel, is pleased to announce Yuli Yamagata's site-specific installation 'Sweet Dreams, Nosferatu' at Passion For Beds in Basel's Old Town.⁠⁠

Dreams are usually private, unaccessible to anyone but the dreamer. In Yuli Yamagata’s site-specific work for Art Basel Parcours, these secret images have escaped and found their way into a bedding shop, luring us into a wild night’s sleep. There, her hybrid creatures assume a personality of their own, seemingly engaging in confidential conversations with the others around them. While Yamagata’s creatures slumber in a bed at the mattress store in Basel, their delusions come to life at Anton Kern Gallery, where the artist is currently showing ‘Sweet Dreams, Nosferatu’, her first solo exhibition in New York.⁠
