Tal R: Goat Man's Call for Sites, Paris+ par Art Basel
Past exhibition
Overview
We are thrilled to exhibit Tal R’s 'Goat Man’s Call' for the first edition of Sites, Art Basel’s sector dedicated to artist projects curated by Annabelle Ténèze, Director of Les Abattoirs, Musée - Frac Occitanie Toulouse.
The striking parade of five figures in patinated bronze will arrive at the Jardin des Tuileries with arms and legs, heads and paws, shields and wheels. They belong to the family of animals and people that occupies the artist’s mind today. They’ve come to Paris to inhale the spirit of the early avant-garde and to reanimate a format in which art history can enact itself in the unfolding now. Springing from the socially minded practices of 1990s Scandinavia, Tal R offers an open-ended collaboration with the viewer: the vision of a body in pieces, coming back together, to dynamic life.
The creatures and characters will joyfully populate a quiet, tree-lined area near the Grand Carré, just off the rue de Rivoli, from October 18-23, during all hours of the fair that the gardens are accessible to the public.
