Frieze Los Angeles 2023: Brian Calvin

Anton Kern Gallery is excited to return to Frieze LA with a solo presentation of new works by Brian Calvin. Believe it or not, this will mark the California artist's first solo presentation in LA in 15 years (!), providing an opportunity for Angelinos to closely examine the evolution of his figuration, and appreciate the unmistakable West Coast vantage point at the root of his practice.

At Booth C11, Calvin presents 11 new paintings (including several shaped canvases), five large-scale pastel drawings, a portfolio of small mixed media drawings, Index Benches and Thumb Stools (examples of his furniture collaboration with Case Studyo) alongside their painted cardboard prototypes.

The fair takes place from February 16-19, 2023. The invitation-only preview day will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2023. The fair will be open to the public from February 17-19, 2023.
